Het huis van weleer, waarvan torens zich aftekenen, glowing in the dark. Thuisvoelen, het wordt steeds moeilijker in een wereld die van zichzelf vervreemd. Waar mensen in het begin van de nacht, elkaar met vuurwerk bestoken, in plaats van het glas te heffen op nieuwe dromen en kleine beetjes vrede. Nachtmerries schieten uit de loop; moet het slechte dan toch zegevieren? Kristalhelder zou deze nacht moeten zijn, waarin het licht een plek verovert en dwars door tunnels schijnt. Lege hulsen dwalen achter mobiele pistolen, mitrailleurs die alles, maar dan ook alles voor de eeuwigheid vastleggen, in snapshots van een foute oorlog. <br><br>Alles voor YouTube. Een eeuwigheid in terminus, want hoe vluchtig en kortstondig is het leven van mobiel. Een Apple voor de dorst, een Samsung die Delilah keelt. Zelfredzaamheid, handhaving, alles gaat naar de Filistijnen. <br><br>Je maintendrai en drink iedere dag vier liter water, zorg dat alle batterijen geladen zijn, hoed mezelf voor kanonnenvlees, maak van mijn kasteel een vesting, onneembaar en hang het vol met prikkende rode rozen. Liefde moet bloeien en bloeden. Laat alle meneer de presidenten maar zacht slapen. Het leven is en blijft een sprookje, een gebed zonder end. Op de kast naast de tv kijkt Boeddha mij droevig aan en houdt de handen op zijn oren. Ongehoord zen. Niets meer wil hij horen. Van niets meer wil hij weten. Zou ik hem nu nog geloven, aanbidden, zou ik eindelijk weten wie ik ben. Om dan te beseffen dat het niet van deze wereld is.
